Tagafolio terms of service

Last updated: 3 November 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Tagafolio (tagafolio.com) is provided by CODE FACTORY, SL, tax ID ESB61788733, registered office at Carrer de la Rutlla, 56 Local A, 08221 Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain ("we", "us"). Contact: info@tagafolio.com.

These terms apply to the Tagafolio website and its plans. By using Tagafolio you accept them. Organisation licences are governed by their own written contract, which takes precedence over these terms where they differ.

2. What Tagafolio does

Tagafolio checks PDF files against PDF/UA-1 (ISO 14289-1), the international standard for accessible PDF, using the machine-checkable conditions of the Matterhorn Protocol, and fixes what it can automatically. All processing happens in your web browser: your documents are never uploaded to us (see the privacy policy).

3. Plans

PlanWhat you get
FreeUnlimited checking in your browser, one file at a time, with a free accessible PDF report. Fixing and seeing the results of the fixed file are free; downloading the fixed file needs a paid plan.
One shot (€4.99)Download the fixed version of one document up to 3 times within 30 days of purchase. Edited and re-exported versions of the same document count as the same document. Includes the fix report.
Monthly (€19.99 a month)Download fixed files for as many documents as you like, one file at a time, while the subscription is active. Cancel at any time.
Organisation (annual, by quote)Bulk processing and the command-line tool, under a separate written contract.

Prices are in euros and exclude taxes, which are added at checkout according to your country.

"The same document" for One shot is decided automatically, by comparing a fingerprint of the document's text (see the privacy policy) and its page count. If you think a genuine new version of your document was wrongly treated as a different document, write to us and we will sort it out.

4. Buying through Paddle

Our plans are sold by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), our reseller and merchant of record. When you buy, your purchase contract is with Paddle, under Paddle's buyer terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms), and Paddle issues your invoice, takes the payment and handles taxes. We provide the service to you. You manage or cancel a subscription in Paddle's customer portal ("Account → Manage subscription and invoices") or through the links in Paddle's emails.

A Monthly subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it. When you cancel, it stays active until the end of the month you have paid for.

5. Your account

Paid plans need an account, identified by your email address. You sign in with a code sent to that address, so keep access to your email secure. One account is for one person. You can delete your account at any time from "Account → Delete my account".

6. Licence and permitted use

While your plan is active, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Tagafolio for your own documents (or your employer's, if you use it for your work).

Fixing documents for third parties (for example as an agency, consultant or reseller) needs an agency licence: contact us.

You may not: try to get around the payment of plans or the One shot limits; interfere with the service or its security; or use Tagafolio to process documents you have no right to process.

7. Your documents

Your documents stay on your device. We have no access to them, so we cannot recover them for you: keep your original files. You are responsible for having the right to check and change the documents you use with Tagafolio.

8. What the results mean

Tagafolio checks the conditions of PDF/UA-1 that software can verify, and fixes what it can automatically. It re-checks every fixed file before you download it. Some conditions need human judgement, such as whether image descriptions are meaningful or the reading order makes sense; Tagafolio lists them as "manual review" and never reports them as passed.

A file that passes every automatic check is not necessarily fully accessible or legally compliant. Meeting a law or standard (such as the European Accessibility Act, WCAG 2.2, EN 301 549, Section 508 or the ADA) depends on the manual-review items and on context that software cannot judge. Tagafolio is a tool that supports your accessibility work; it does not certify compliance.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Tagafolio available, but cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve or change features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel; for a One shot purchase not yet used, you may ask for a refund.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer and liability for intent or gross negligence.

Otherwise, our total liability for any claim related to Tagafolio is limited to the amount you paid for Tagafolio in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for the loss of documents (which never leave your device).

11. Ending

You can stop using Tagafolio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms, after warning you where possible; any refund then follows the refund policy and the law.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and may bring a claim in its courts. Otherwise, the courts of Terrassa have jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We will publish any new version here with its date. For significant changes affecting paid plans, we will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before they apply.
